Mercedes-Benz USA enjoyed a very bountiful June 2012, as Mercedes-Benz, smart, and Sprinter all garnered all-time monthly sales figures. The total units sold for the three marques amounted to 25,388, which is 12.5 percent higher compared to the same month in 2011 and puts the year-to-date totals at 142,619, which is 20.8 percent higher than the same period last year (118,021).
“This marks a historic milestone for Mercedes-Benz in the U.S. market," said a delighted Mercedes-Benz USA President and CEO Steve Cannon. "Not only did we post all-time record sales across all three business units in June, we achieved our highest half-year sales in our 47-year history.”
Bannering the charge for Mercedes-Benz was the C-Class, which amounted for 6,506 units. The E-Class was a close second at 5,589 units. A total of 22,231 Mercedes-Benz vehicles were sold in June. The two model ranges accounted for more than half the sales for June. The M-Class was a distant third, at 2,891 units. For smart cars, the total is at 1,017 units, while Sprinter truck sales amounted to 2,140 units.
Mercedes-Benz USA continues its streak of record-setting months. We'll see if this trend continues on until July.
